Does Your Goal Feel Unreachable? Be Inspired Here

July 8, 2020 by jjscreativelifemidwife

Every day, I celebrate that I am one step closer to my biggest goal in years.

Last December I was seeking something to help me feel better. I felt myself sinking into a depression after a near death experience.

“What did I used to do that made me feel good, feel better?” I asked myself. “Whatever that was, I need to do more of that,”

After months of mostly sitting in a chair in the corner of my living room, on winter solstice I set a goal. 198 days later, I am still on task and have reached my sub-goal every single day since December 21.

Here’s the story in a short, engaging video:

After watching this video and hearing my story, what do you think?

Thank you for this, Julie.. I nearly died in August of 2018, and I’ve experienced the same aftermath as you…I realized after watching this that I’ve been so wrapped up in the work of recovering that I’ve forgotten to celebrate my daily victories. I’m determined to find a way to do this creatively now…

I am so pleased to read this – let me know if you would like to talk further on this. I have started making up small goals for my physical health, too. It helps, as does the celebrating. Tomorrow will be my 200th haiku! When I started that seemed so far away!

What a great video and what a way to celebrate by writing a poem. I haven’t written a few now and then about things on my mind and I know what you mead about celebrating.

Good on you, Julie. Enjoyed your video and hearing doing bite size celebrations. I like doing bite size projects, too – snapshots, index card art, quilt squares, etc. Each little bite tells a story – the chapters of my life.

I have seen some of your haikus and I really enjoy them. I like your idea of taking a thing you want to do and doing it in small amounts. And then, you can celebrate each step you take toward the goal. I need to apply that to my business!!

Now that you mention it – I am going to think of ways to apply it to my business too!

My sister told me that this pandemic was getting her down. She loves haiku, but I doubt that she’s written any for some time. I’m sharing your post and video with her. I hope to see a new haiku from her soon.

I hope she feels better. The pandemic has been difficult on most everyone, some of us more than others. I hope she finds some optimism in the thought of writing haiku!
